When to Use
In nearly every workplace, employees use some type of employer-provided equipment and company property to execute their job duties. This includes employer-provided vehicles, phones and computers. Employees should know what is expected of them when using company property, including proper use, maintenance and how to handle any problems with the equipment. For this reason, employers should have a policy detailing the appropriate uses of company property in the employee handbook. What employers should include in this policy will depend on what types of property and equipment the employer provides to its employees.
