Immigration Policy

When to Use
Employers with immigration programs should have a written policy setting out the internal process when sponsoring individuals to work in the US. The policy should outline the employer's position on sponsorship, the employer's and employee's obligations (e.g., expenses each will pay). For those employers that manage an immigration program, implementing a written policy helps clarify the employer's position and streamlines the internal process.
Employers should communicate their immigration policy to employees, including those responsible for implementing the immigration program, at the commencement of employment, and ensure these individuals acknowledge their receipt and understanding of the policy.
