Responding to Employee Concerns Policy
Author: Christine P. Corrigan, CPC Writing Services
When to Use
Employers should use this policy as a means to educate employees and supervisors about the importance of disclosing concerns about workplace conditions and to institute protocols for organized and efficient reporting of concerns including, but not limited to, safety issues, employee relations, sexual harassment, discrimination, unlawful or wasteful practices or other behaviors that could undermine the employer's goals.
Importantly, adopting written policies outlining how and why employees should report their concerns up the chain of command can have an extremely positive impact on the employer's overall business practices and reduce its exposure to litigation or other costly and time consuming dispute resolution procedures.
