Tacoma, Washington Minimum Wage Poster
Entity Mandating Poster: City of Tacoma.
Applicability: Employers with employees who work at least 80 hours per year within Tacoma city limits and who are not exempt from minimum wage requirements.
Distribution Specifications: Effective February 1, 2016, an employer must provide notice to employees of their rights regarding the payment of the local minimum wage; the current minimum wage rate; retaliation protections; and information regarding the filing of employee complaints. An employer may comply with the law's notice provisions by: (i) including a paper or electronic copy of the notice in its employee handbooks or other written guidance for employees concerning employee benefits or leave rights; or (ii) distributing a copy of the notice to each new employee upon hiring; or (iii) displaying a poster in a conspicuous and accessible place in each establishment where its employees work.
Where to Post: Effective February 1, 2016, this notice may be posted in a conspicuous and accessible place in each establishment where employees work.
Obtaining This Poster: Once issued, an employer may download this poster directly from the City of Tacoma website. The poster will be made available in a number of languages so that an employer may comply with its employee notice obligations.
