Comply With OSHA's Whistleblower Statutes
- OSHA enforces 22 different whistleblower statutes. Each is unique and should be read and understood separately. The two most commonly known of these statutes are the retaliation provisions within the OSH Act and the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act.
- Employers may not discipline an employee for exercising his or her rights to complain about legally-protected issues such as health and safety violations.
- Bounties may be available to whistleblowers under certain statutes enforced through the Whistleblower Protection Program.
