Handle an OSHA Inspection
- An OSHA Inspector may appear at a workplace at any reasonable time within business hours. The inspector will not, and cannot, give advanced notice (with certain exceptions). The employer does have the right to demand a warrant before allowing the inspector onto the premises.
- Employees have the right to have an employee representative participate in the inspection process.
- OSHA inspections consist of presenting credentials, an opening conference, the walk around and the closing conference.
- OSHA will issue any citations resulting from the inspection at a different date, a few weeks after the citation.
