Edwin J Seda-Fernández
Edwin J Seda-Fernández is a shareholder and the chairperson of the labor and employment law department at Adsuar Muñiz Goyco Seda & Pérez-Ochoa, PSC. His practice covers the exclusive representation of employers in the private and public sectors and the defence of management with claims and proceedings involving unions and individual employees. He represents management during union campaigns, negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements and acts as trial counsel in labor arbitrations and before the National Labor Relations Board.
Edwin represents employers before administrative agencies and in federal and Puerto Rico courts in cases of wrongful discharge, discrimination suits by employees, sexual harassment in the workplace, wage and hour claims, benefit claims and employment-related tort cases such as defamation and privacy rights violations. A substantial element of his practice consists of general counselling with clients regarding avoidance of litigation as well as compliance with Puerto Rico and federal labor laws, employment discrimination statutes, executive orders, ERISA and other laws governing various aspects of employment. He has extensive experience in labor and employment matters relating to the reorganisations of businesses, reductions in force, plant closings, mergers, acquisitions and transfers.
He is a member of the Puerto Rico, Federal and American Bar Associations and has contributed to numerous publications relating to employment law.
