California Employers: Get Ready for January 2022 Employment Laws

This year, once again, the California legislature passed a number of new laws that directly impact employers in the state; several of these laws are set to take effect at new year. The new measures cover a mix of topics, including family and medical leave, wage theft, workplace safety and settlement agreements. Combine these newly passed laws with previously enacted state legislation taking effect on January 1, and the result is a varied list of compliance obligations covering a wide range of topics affecting large and small employers across the state.

To help your organization prepare, we highlight some noteworthy measures below and provide a list, by topic, of state and local employment laws taking effect on or around January 1, 2022.
