Coronavirus (COVID-19): School and Child Care Challenges

Employers scrambled to respond when the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic erupted in 2020, abruptly closing schools, child care facilities and workplaces. Throughout the pandemic, employers needed to remain agile with their workplace policies and procedures as states, localities and school districts amended (and continue to amend) their opening mandates and requirements. In addition to dealing with school and child care facility openings and closings, employees may also be affected by their children getting COVID, needing to quarantine, obtaining the COVID vaccine or suffering from long COVID.
