Determine If an Employee Meets FMLA Eligibility Requirements: New Liveflo Flowchart Published!

XpertHR's innovative Liveflo Tool now includes a flowchart to assist an employer in determining whether an employee is eligible for Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave.

The FMLA requires covered employers to provide eligible employees up to 12 workweeks of unpaid leave for, among other things, the birth or adoption of a child or to care for an immediate family member with a serious health condition. An employee must meet specific eligibility requirements in order to be covered by the FMLA.

This flowchart takes an employer step by step through the process of determining whether an employee meets the eligibility requirements for FMLA leave, such as determining whether the employee has worked the required number of hours and months prior to taking leave, as well as determining the employee's worksite.

Additional XpertHR flowcharts address complex workplace issues, such as paying an employee's final wages, completing the Form I-9 for new hires, handling a request for a religious accommodation and classifying a position as exempt or nonexempt.
