Determine If There Is Reasonable Suspicion of Impairment: New Liveflo Flowchart Published!

XpertHR's innovative Liveflo Tool now includes a flowchart to help an employer determine whether there is reasonable suspicion of impairment in the workplace. The following resources have been added to complement the flowchart:

With the rising use and drug and alcohol abuse by workers, it is increasingly important for an employer to be able to identify impairment while at work and carry out next steps based on the organization's policies, procedures and compliance obligations.

Reasonable suspicion determinations may corroborate test results in cases where the drug test may not conclusively prove impairment at the time of test administration (e.g., marijuana or cannabidiol use). Reasonable-suspicion testing may also be required under certain state drug-free workplace programs.

Additional XpertHR flowcharts address complex workplace issues, such as updating an employee handbook, investigating a claim of sexual harassment, conducting a credit check, handling a request for a religious accommodation, and disciplining an employee using progressive discipline.
