July 1, 2018 Compliance Requirements

Once again, July 1 ushers in many new requirements with which employers must comply. They include:
- Pay equity and salary history laws intended to bridge the wage gap;
- Employee leave laws that establish or expand employees' rights to leaves of absence and time off from work;
- Minimum wage rates that increase or, in some cases, take effect for the first time; and
- Additional compliance requirements, including the nation's first statewide employee scheduling law.
An employer should make note of these legal developments and ensure it takes the appropriate steps to comply.
