Mass Layoffs, Reductions in Force and Plant Closings: Employment Law Manual Section Renamed

Author: XpertHR Editorial Team

In an effort to reflect the terminology most commonly used by HR professionals, we are pleased to announce that the sections of the Employment Law Manual formerly titled Involuntary Terminations have been renamed Mass Layoffs, Reductions in Force and Plant Closings.

The renamed federal and state Employment Law Manual sections cover the following key topics:

  • The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act and state mini-WARN requirements;
  • Potential penalties for failing to comply;
  • WARN and mini-WARN Act exceptions;
  • Dislocated worker and recall protections; and
  • Call center relocation laws when applicable.

Topics such as retaliation, whistleblower and unemployment benefits have been removed because they are ably addressed in other sections of our Employment Law Manual.

As always, your feedback is welcome by emailing feedback@xperthr.com.
