Sacramento, California, and Tacoma, Washington, Pass Minimum Wage Ordinances: Legal Timetable Entries Added, Other Documents Updated

Local minimum wage ordinances have been passed in Sacramento, California, and Tacoma, Washington.

The Sacramento minimum wage starts at $10.50. It takes effect on January 1, 2017, for large employers with more than 100 employees, and on January 1, 2018, for smaller employers with 100 or fewer employees. It will be raised gradually to $12.50 by 2021. Starting in 2022, the minimum wage will be adjusted for inflation each year.

The Tacoma ordinance takes effect February 1, 2016, at $10.35. It will be raised gradually to $12.00 by 2018. Starting in 2019, the minimum wage will be adjusted for inflation each year.
