Update Workplace Posters for New Year 2016
Author: Marta Moakley, XpertHR Legal Editor
Many states and municipalities recently have added or updated workplace posters to reflect changes to or additions of minimum wage, paid sick leave and other employee-notification requirements.
An employer should review the new and updated posters listed below to be sure its workplace posters are up to date for the new year.
Although the minimum wage rates held steady in a number of states, in some instances employers must replace the current poster in order to reflect the correct year. However, some states incorporate changes affecting multiple years into one poster. For example, Arkansas incorporates changes spanning three years into its current poster, so an employer may not need to change the poster until January 1, 2018. Similarly, minimum wage posters for California, Hawaii, Nebraska, Vermont, Washington and West Virginia may not need to be replaced because they already contain information regarding 2016 wage requirements.
For more in-depth coverage, XpertHR provides its Federal Workplace Labor and Employment Law Posters chart with corresponding State Workplace and Employment Law Posters charts.
The Employment Law Manual, Quick Reference and Policies and Documents Tools will continue to be updated as additional changes to federal and state notice requirements become effective.
