Update Your Employee Handbook for 2020: Checklist and How To Added

As legal developments at the federal, state and local level continue to affect the workplace, employers should ensure that their employee handbooks and workplace policies are compliant. Whether it be a significant new law providing emergency responder leave or an amended smoking law prohibiting e-cigarette use in places of employment, an employer should determine how these new requirements affect its employee-facing policies and workplace practices.

In order to assist employers, XpertHR has added two new resources: How To Update Your Handbook for 2020 and Update Your Handbook for 2020 Checklist.

This How To summarizes federal, state and local trends and legal developments that affect employee-facing policies that become effective in 2019. Employers should use the How To in conjunction with the Update Your Handbook for 2020 Checklist to complete the updates to their employee handbook(s) based on the states and localities they have operations and whether the laws are applicable to their workplace.

The How To and Checklist will be continuously updated as new laws take effect in 2019.
