Safe and Sick Time Handbook Statement [1-4 Employees]: New York City, New York
The Company provides eligible employees with unpaid safe and sick time in accordance with the requirements of the New York City Earned Safe and Sick Time Act (ESSTA).
All employees (whether full-time, part-time or temporary) who work more than 80 hours per calendar year in New York City are eligible to accrue unpaid safe and sick time.
Accrual of Safe and Sick Time
Eligible employees will begin to accrue safe and sick time on the employee's date of hire. Safe and sick time is accrued at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked in New York City, up to a maximum accrual of 40 hours in a single calendar year. Time off for safe and sick leave or for vacation or other paid time off is not included in actual hours worked. Salaried exempt employees will be assumed to work 40 hours in a week unless the employee's regular work week is less than 40 hours, in which case safe and sick time accrues
