  • In 2008, Nebraska passed a constitutional amendment prohibiting preferential treatment to any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin in public employment, public contracts and public education.   • Nebraska requires that state agencies ensure equal opportunities for all individuals, with efforts focused on racial minorities, women, persons with disabilities and persons over 40. See Public Employers.
  • State agencies with more than 10 employees are required to develop a written Affirmative Action Plan which must be updated each fiscal year and include specified information regarding affirmative action outreach efforts and results. See Affirmative Action Plans.
