  • Under Colorado law, provisions in an employee handbook may create binding contractual obligations on the employer. See Employee Handbook as Unilateral Contract.
  • Employers may limit, restrict or prohibit weapons in the workplace, including those brought by individuals who have been issued a concealed weapons permit by the state. See Workplace Violence.
  • Colorado allows drug testing, but it has different rules for private and public employers. See Drug and Alcohol Testing.
  • Colorado generally prohibits employers from discharging employees for lawful activity outside the employer's premises, subject to certain exceptions. See Off-Duty Conduct.
