- In addition to the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, the Colorado Youth Employment Opportunity Act (CYEOA) regulates the employment of minors in Colorado.
- The CYEOA generally covers minors under the age of 18 and includes provisions regarding permissible work by age, hazardous occupations, and work hour limitations. See Coverage, Prohibited Occupations and Hours of Work.
- The CYEOA does not require work permits, but contains specific provisions about age certificates and school release permits. See Employment Certificates.
