Summary

  • There are various types of leave that may be available to an employee in Oregon. See Leaves of Absence.
  • An employer with 25 or more employees may be required to provide leave under the Oregon Family Leave Act (OFLA) and the Oregon Military Family Leave Act (OMFLA). See Family and Medical Leave.
  • Oregon has a paid family and medical leave insurance program that is funded through employer and employee contributions. See Paid Family and Medical Leave.
  • Oregon employers must provide sick and safe time to employees. See Paid Sick Leave.
  • Employers are encouraged to provide leave for parents and guardians to participate in their child's education process. See School Activities Leave.
  • Oregon law requires employers to allow employees to take leave to serve as jurors. See Jury Duty Leave.
  • An employer may not terminate or otherwise discriminate against an employee because the employee must attend juvenile court proceedings involving the employee's child. See Juvenile Court Attendance Leave.

  • A covered employer must provide leave to an employee who is a member of the Oregon Legislative Assembly and whose employment is interrupted because of attendance at the regular or special sessions of the Legislative Assembly or the performance of official duties as a member of the Legislative Assembly.
