  • Texas currently does not require state family and medical leave for employees of private sector employers. See Family and Medical Leave.
  • Texas provides protections for pregnant employees. For all purposes related to employment, a woman affected by pregnancy, childbirth or a related medical condition must be treated the same as employees who are not pregnant but are similar in their ability or inability to work.
