  • Under New York's "Mini-COBRA" law group health policies issued to employers with 2 to 19 employees are required to provide continuation of benefits in certain instances. +NY CLS Ins § 3221(m). See New York State Continuation Coverage Law.
  • New York's "Mini-COBRA" law is more generous than federal law and requires group health policies issued to employers of any size to offer continuation coverage for up to 36 months. See Extension of Coverage.
  • When group health insurance ends, health plans are required to offer individuals the opportunity to convert from a group policy to an individual policy. See Conversion.
