- In order to exclude a meal period from compensable working time, Wisconsin law requires that employees be free to leave their work premises. Minors must be provided a 30-minute meal break if they work for more than six hours. See Break Periods.
- In general, Wisconsin's regulation of travel is much more generous than its federal component, and excludes only ordinary travel from home to work and work to home from the definition of "work time." See Travel Time.
