Summary

  • All New Hampshire employers are required to post the New Hampshire Workers' Compensation Law Poster in the workplace. See Notice Requirements.
  • All private employers are required to carry workers' compensation insurance, including any individual or entity that employs domestic employees. See Covered Employers.
  • All employees are covered by workers' compensation insurance with a few in unique exceptions. See Covered Employees.
  • The workers' compensation system in New Hampshire is a no-fault system. The primary focus of disputed claims or injuries is on whether sufficient proof exists to establish that an injury or disease arose out of and in the course of employment. See Compensable Injuries.
  • Medical benefits are paid by workers' compensation insurance. If an insurer fails to pay an undisputed medical bill, it may be fined up to a specific dollar value for each violation. See Medical Benefits.
