Yes. A New Jersey employer with 25 or more employees must conspicuously post a notice of employees' rights and responsibilities under the SAFE Act in a form provided by the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development. An employer should post it in all New Jersey workplaces.
An employer must also use other appropriate means to keep employees informed about the law. While the law does not defines what other appropriate means requires, it likely includes:
- Advising an employee of his or her rights under the SAFE Act upon notice that the employee needs to take leave;
- Distributing copies of the notice to all new hires;
- Including a summary of the leave rights in an employee handbook; and
- Posting it on the employer's intranet.
