A microaggression is an action or incident that is indirect, subtle and possibly unintentional and communicates some sort of bias or discrimination against a member of a historically marginalized group. It may take the form of a comment or talking over a coworker.
Often, there may be no intent behind a microaggression, but that does not make it any less damaging to the person on the receiving end as it may affect their sense of belonging and engagement at work.
