Federal, state and local laws protect employees from discrimination based on disability or handicap. As a result, when an employer is faced with a complaint of disability discrimination, the employer must handle the complaint in a timely and thorough manner to avoid potential liability. Employers should follow the steps set forth below when presented with a complaint of disability discrimination.
