  • In the United Arab Emirates (UAE) generally, the primary legislation governing workplace health and safety is the Federal Labour Law, while in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) health and safety at work is governed by the DIFC Employment Law and the ADGM Employment Law respectively.   • In the UAE generally, certain specified employers are required to employ at least one health and safety officer. The free zones licensed by the Dubai Development Authority (DDA) (formerly Dubai Creative Clusters (DCC) and the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone (TECOM)) have their own rules relating to safety representatives.   • In the UAE generally, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, through its labour inspectors, monitors and ensures due compliance with the provisions of employment law, including in the area of health and safety. (See Enforcement and penalties)
