Mr. Perlmuter's practice focuses primarily on employee benefits and executive compensation, and on estate and business succession planning.
He is also experienced in business entity formation and corporate governance.
Mr. Perlmuter began his career in the employee plans division of the IRS National Office, later became a partner in a national accounting firm's benefits and compensation consulting division, and, prior to joining Frantz Ward, headed up the employee benefits practice for another large Ohio law firm.
His experience extends to both middle market and public companies, in addition to his extensive work with nonprofit organizations.
Mr. Perlmuter is involved in all aspects of the design, implementation, administration and termination of tax-qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, health and other welfare plans, and fringe benefit programs.
He has counseled employers on compliance with the healthcare reform law and advised on meeting wellness program requirements. He also handles the ERISA-mandated arbitration of multiemployer plan controversies.
In addition, Mr. Perlmuter has represented his clients before the IRS, DOL and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, the federal agencies charged with benefit plan oversight responsibility.
He received his JD from the American University.
