Mr. Shivers has practiced labor and employment law in behalf of management since 1981.
He regularly counsels employers concerning a broad spectrum of employment issues and represents clients before the NLRB, EEOC, the DOL, and other state and federal agencies.
Mr. Shivers also assists clients with responding to union campaigns, collective bargaining, and arbitration.
He is an experienced litigator, having successfully litigated numerous cases in federal and state courts involving discrimination claims, retaliation claims, sexual harassment claims, employee benefits claims, employment contract claims, wrongful termination claims, and non-compete claims.
Mr. Shivers has served as a member of the national Legislative Affairs Committee for SHRM and was one of the authors of the first edition of Employee Benefits Law, a treatise published by BNA and the ABA section of labor and employment law.
He also is one of the authors of the Mississippi Employment Law Practice Handbook, published by the University of Mississippi.
