Ms. McGintee helps employers comply with federal and state anti-discrimination laws, wage and hour laws, employee leave issues under the FMLA, ADA and other state leave laws, and also counsels employers on issues involving employee discipline and/or termination.
She also has a special focus representing colleges, universities and private secondary schools on both employment and education law matters.
Ms. McGintee has litigated age and disability discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and employment contract dispute cases in the federal and state courts of Maine as well as the state court of Massachusetts.
She has argued cases at the First Circuit Court of Appeals and the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.
Ms. McGintee also represents clients before administrative agencies, including the Maine Human Rights Commission and the Unemployment Compensation Commission.
She has written on several employment law topics ranging from the ADA to the use of social media in the workplace.
Ms. McGintee is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Maine School of Law where she served as the case note and comment editor on the Maine Law Review.
