Mr. Young advises clients on property, sales, income, severance and other matters, as well as unclaimed property and state and local incentives.
He also represents clients in state and local tax litigation before administrative tribunals, local boards of equalization and courts, and lobbies for clients before legislative bodies.
Mr. Young is the past president of the Tax Section of the Utah State Bar and is on the Executive Committee of the State and Local Tax Committee of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association.
He is a guest lecturer at the University of Utah, and speaks frequently throughout the country on state and local tax issues.
Mr. Young also speaks and participates regularly with state tax organizations, such as the Council on State Taxation and Tax Executives Institute.
He is a writer and editor for the ABA Property Tax Deskbook and the Journal of Multistate Taxation, and publishes routinely in state and local tax publications, including the ABA State and Local Tax Lawyer, the ABA Sales and Use Tax Deskbook and State Tax Notes.
Mr. Young also provides annual updates for the Committee on State Taxation and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.
He is recognized by his peers as a "Mountain States Super Lawyer" in the area of tax, and as one of the "Utah Legal Elite" for Tax Law by Utah Business Magazine.
