Inclement weather, from a minor storm that shuts down power to the workplace to a full-fledged natural disaster like a tornado or hurricane, can significantly disrupt operations. While it is impossible to fully plan for the unpredictable nature of weather, it is still a good idea to have basic guidelines that can be used to guide employees when bad weather hits. Having an inclement weather policy ensures employees know how to find out about workplace closings and what they need to do when the unexpected occurs.
