An employer is required under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act) to keep certain records on file, posted or both in the workplace. Records pertaining to employee illnesses and injuries, as well as medical records regarding exposures to toxic substances, are required to be kept current in businesses regulated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
