Implement a Safety Program
- A safety program should set clear goals for both the employer and its employees in maintaining a safe workplace. The goals should be clearly written and distributed to everyone in the organization.
- Employees should be trained in the safety practices outlined in the program and understand what is expected of them as they carry out their duties.
- An important component of the safety program is a safety committee that includes members from all levels of the organization, i.e., management, supervisors, employees. The committee should have a clear and respected presence within the workplace and have the authority to suggest and implement changes to improve the overall safety of the workplace.
