Flexible Work: Managing Flexibility

Introduction

Broad implementation of flexible work has unearthed novel and sometimes unexpected challenges. From inconsistent workplace policies and inadvertent discriminatory practices to employees feeling disconnected, some employers learned the hard way that without adequate organizational readiness, flexibility will not succeed.

Before launching or expanding a flexible work program, those responsible for flexible work implementation must secure support from all key stakeholders, from the C-suite and other leadership to line managers. Once buy-in is secured, an organization can move forward with implementing and managing their flexible work program.
