Most employers have many responsibilities under the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act. The reason for this is, quite simply, to keep the work environment clean, healthful, free of serious hazards and above all, safe for all who work in it.

A safe workplace is one that has fewer employee illnesses, injuries and as a result, fewer days missed days of work. The more time employees spend on a job they feel safe doing, in an environment they believe cares about their safety, the more productive they will be. By following the responsibilities set forth by OSHA, employers and employees can work together to create and maintain a work environment that is safe for all.
