According to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), organizations that collect information on employees who identify as non-binary or a gender other than male or female may choose to report this information in the comment box in the EEO-1 online filing system. The EEOC recommends that employers wishing to report this information preface the comment with the phrase "Additional Employee Data" and use a format similar to the following:
Additional Employee Data:
2 non-binary gender employees in Job Category [Name of Category]; Race/Ethnicity: Employee 1 - [Employee 1's Race/Ethnicity], Employee 2 - [Employee 2's Race/Ethnicity].
