When to Use
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) may entitle an employee with an ADA-protected disability to a reasonable accommodation that enables the employee to perform the essential functions of his or her job. While Title I of the ADA does not specifically address service animals in the workplace, a service animal may be a reasonable accommodation to an employee with a disability under the ADA.
