  • Neither the Virginians with Disabilities Act nor the Virginia Human Rights Act provide a statutory right to file suit for retaliation, but an employee may be able to bring suit against an employer for wrongful termination under certain circumstances. See Retaliation Claims in Virginia.
  • State agencies may not engage in unlawful retaliation. See State Agencies.
  • Some Virginia municipalities prohibit retaliation against employees for filing a discrimination or harassment claim. See Municipal Laws.
