Virginia Requires New Hire Reporting of Independent Contractors
Implementation Date: July 1, 2020
UPDATE: The Virginia New Hire Reporting Center has clarified that, effective July 1, 2020, all newly hired independent contractors must be reported within 20 days of the start of the contract, and that employers have until September 1, 2020, to report independent contractors who were already working for the employer before July 1, 2020.
