Restrictive Covenant and Confidentiality Agreement: New York
Author: Katherine Hinde, Littler
When to Use
New York employers seeking to protect their legitimate business interests may require their employees to sign a restrictive covenant and confidentiality agreement, in which individuals agree that they will not engage in particular kinds of business activity in competition with the employer and will not disclose an employer's confidential information. Restrictive covenants include noncompete agreements, nonsolicitation agreements and confidentiality agreements.
This agreement can be customized to include only those restrictions necessary to protect an employer's legitimate business interests.
