Summary

  • In addition to the federal antidiscrimination laws, Tennessee employers with eight or more employees must comply with the state antidiscrimination law, the Tennessee Disability Act (formerly the Tennessee Handicap Act). See Tennessee Disability Act.
  • An employer with 15 or more employees is required to provide reasonable accommodations for pregnancy, childbirth or a related medical condition. See Pregnancy Accommodations.
  • Tennessee permits the use of medical marijuana under very limited circumstances. See Medical Marijuana.
