California Notice to Employee, Labor Code Section 2810.5

Entity Mandating Notice: California Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.

Applicability: All private California employers. Effective January 1, 2015, employers must use the revised notice, which informs employees of their right to paid sick leave.

Obtaining This Notice: An employer may download this notice directly from the Department of Industrial Relations' website.

Distribution Specifications: An employer must provide each new nonexempt employee with the written notice at the time of hire and to current employees within seven calendar days of any changes in the information included on this form unless the changes are reflected on a timely wage statement or the notice of changes is provided in another writing required by law within seven days of the changes. The notice requirement does not apply to exempt employees, employees who are employed by state or local government bodies, or employees who are covered by a collective bargaining agreement that provides for regular base wages that are at least 130 percent of the state minimum wage.
