Access to Personnel Files and Payroll Records Handbook Statement: California
Upon written request, a current and former employee, or a designated representative, may inspect and receive a copy of the employee's personnel file and records that relate to the employee's performance or to any grievance concerning the employee in the presence of a [Company Name] representative at a mutually convenient time, at the employee's expense. Employees may add their version of any disputed item to the file. The Company will comply with a written personnel file request at reasonable intervals and reasonable times within 30 calendar days of the written request. The parties may agree to a date beyond 30 calendar days provided it is not longer than 35 calendar days from the employer's receipt of the written request.
