- In addition to the protections provided by federal law, Kentucky affirmative action law requires that state government, agencies, and certain government contractors implement and maintain an affirmative action plan to ensure equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, disability, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, ancestry, and veteran status.
