Guidance on LGBT Rights for Federal Workers Released: Employment Law Manual, Best Practice Manual Updated

In June 2014, four federal agencies reissued an updated guide entitled "Addressing Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Discrimination in Federal Civilian Employment: A Guide to Employment Rights, Protections, and Responsibilities," which provides critical guidance on protecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender federal workers from discrimination and harassment in the workplace.

Based on this development, the EEO-Discrimination section of the Employment Law Manual and the Transgender Employees and Applicants in the Workplace section of the Best Practice Manual have been updated.
