Content Updated to Reflect San Francisco's Family Friendly Workplace Ordinance

The San Francisco Family Friendly Workplace Ordinance protects an employee's right to request flexible working arrangements, includes a framework for processing requests, adds retaliation protections for workers who have made a request under the ordinance and includes posting, notice and recordkeeping requirements.
The Future Developments subsections of the following Employment Law Manual sections have been updated to cover employer requirements under the Ordinance:
- Employee Leaves > FMLA: California;
- Employee Management > Other Leaves: California;
- Employee Management > Managing Employees in Special Situations;
- Employee Communications: California;
- EEO-Discrimination: California;
- Employee Discipline: California; and
- Disabilities (ADA): California.
In addition, the Legal Timetable has been updated to include the Ordinance's effective date of January 1, 2014.
