E-Verify Requirements and Best Practices: New Supervisor Briefing and PowerPoint Training Presentation Added

Author: Melissa A. Silver, XpertHR Legal Editor

E-Verify is a voluntary program except where required by state law or by the federal contractor rule. By participating in E-Verify, an employer can electronically verify the information provided by new employees on the Form I-9. Employers are increasingly using E-Verify to assist them with the verification process. In fact, in January 2014, E-Verify hit a milestone of more than half a million companies using the free web-based system to electronically verify the information provided by new hires on the Form I-9.

In order to help employers comply with the legal requirements and best practices regarding E-Verify, XpertHR has added a new E-Verify Supervisor Briefing, which guides employers through the E-Verify process. In addition, a PowerPoint presentation has been published to be used in conjunction with the Supervisor Briefing. The presentation is specifically designed as a training resource to address critical HR-related issues faced by your managers and supervisors. This and XpertHR's other PowerPoint presentations can be customized to address the needs of any workplace.
